Technical Sales Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Recognizing the structural decline of the Publication print market it is no longer feasible to retain a binary Route-to-Market resource with commercial and technical responsibilities separated. As such it is necessary to introduce a single multi-faceted Route-to-Market team with individuals retaining both technical and commercial responsibilities within a single role. Summary of the responsibilities is listed below.

Technical responsibilities (as directed by line manager): Manage all SHE activities within this area of responsibility Ensure objectives as defined by line manager are achieved Provide direct customer technical support as directed by the line manager which will include technical recommendations to resolve customer problems Serve as technical interface between customers and additional RTM support team to include technology specialists to support solution finding activities Support technical activities to minimise claim potential for product non-conformance Actively support our company technical training programmes on individual, regional and Pan European level to establish our competitive edge in the market. This to increase our continuous relationship with our customers/dealers and their process Actively assist in new developments regarding improving our technical support towards our customers for all product lines to include ink, transfer media and press room chemicals Support on-press product evaluation at new customers to generate additional sales Support international accounts outside of the employees core domestic region which in view of the absence of proximity will require extensive periods including weekends away from home and for that purpose the employee possesses a demonstrated capacity and appetite to assume this responsibility. company are aware this demand can create significant stress in an individuals domestic situation which as a responsible employer wishes to avoid Commercial responsibilities (as directed by line manager): Generate sales for a portfolio of accounts and reach the company's sales target Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profit where assigned as negotiator Identify and develop new sales opportunities within existing accounts, cross-selling Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales teams to ensure profitable growth Build and maintain strong, profitable long-lasting customer relationships Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer stakeholders. Identify customer’s decision influencers and decision makers and manage expectations Interaction and coordination with company organisational resources Communicate clearly the progress on account status on regular basis to internal and external stakeholders. Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting customer requirements, preparing an annual budget, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions Review and monitor costs and individual expenses, ensuring that remedial action is taken as necessary in order to achieve budgets Meet sales management control system need to transparently manage 360 degree sales process resource allocation and sales progress per customer Continuously monitor financial risk status per customer by observing customer development and communication. Continually keep a high awareness of company customer specific credit risk analyses and customer payment behaviour.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Commitment, Experience, Training) The post-holder needs to be a recognized industry professional with significant experience within the printing industry operating within a defined technical function expertise across different product applications, in addition the post-holder demonstrated commercial competence and a high level of ability to communicate in English Post holder need other language skills relevant for communicating and interacting with the assigned client base on both management and operator level Based on a location that allows efficient daily access to customer base Have a demonstrated capacity for significant international travel which may require extensive periods of absence from home The job requires an individual with strong communication skills who is able to work well on their own initiative and under pressure. Flexible in their approach to work, the post-holder needs to have good organisational and planning skills and a strong customer focus.
